VATICAN II (L-G. 13,22,37).
“The
life of Christians ... is a warfare”. (General Catechetical Directory 57).
First
a definition of Socialism. The words Socialist and Socialism came into use in
Great Britain and France soon after 1825 and were first applied to the
doctrines of certain writers who were seeking a complete transformation of the
economic and moral basis of society by the substitution of social for
individual control and of social for individualistic forces in the organisation
of life and work. (1). In England
beginning in 1848 there was a movement for what was called ‘Christian
socialism’. It was moved by horror at the appalling conditions in England’s
“dark, Satanic mills”. Life was nasty, brutish and short. (Hobbes).
Extreme Socialism: Socialism in Europe was pretty moderate until Karl Marx
and Frederick Engels entered the fray. V. Lenin was responsible for implementing
their ideas in Russia and largely for the eventual set up of the Union of the Soviet
Socialist Republic. (U.S.S.R.).
With
the fall of the U.S.S.R. many believed that socialism was no longer a threat.
Many also believed that the New Left of the Sixties also collapsed and
disappeared as well. But the progressives on the Left did not give up their
desire to overthrow the social, cultural and moral structures of the West. The
tactics changed but the goals remained: the abolition of private property,
Religion and the present form of marriage.
Proponents
of Socialism traded in Revolution for Evolution, for the gradualism of the
Fabian socialists who encouraged the use of democratic institutions to achieve
socialist goals. Radicals like Lenin and Castro were replaced with the cultural
Marxism of Theodore Adorno or Antonio Gramsci who called, in imitation of
Chairman Mao’s long march in China, for a ‘long march through the institutions’
of Western culture.
Single Issue Groups: The revolutionaries reorganised themselves into a
multitude of single issue groups. So we now have for example, radical
feminists, anti-war ‘peace’ activists, animal rights groups, radical environmentalists
and ‘gay’ rights groups. All of these groups pursue their little bit of radical
agenda through a complex of network organisations like Gay and Lesbian Groups,
Planned Parenthood etc. Of course, not all single issue groups are socialistic
in origin. Some of these have a decidedly affluent society life style.
Socialism
favours code words like tolerance, equality, social justice, economic justice,
peace, reproductive rights, sex education and safe sex, inclusion, diversity
and sensitivity. All together, Linda Kimball says this is Cultural Marxism
disguised as multiculturalism. Not to be confused with cultural diversity which
is a good thing. (2). As we’ll see
later, tolerance is not extended to Christianity!
By
the end of World War I socialists realized that things were not going as
planned for the world’s proletariat did not heed Marx’s call to rise up against
evil capitalism and embrace communism
instead. What had gone wrong?
Christianity an Obstacle: Separately, two Marxist thinkers - Antonio Gramsci of
Italy and Georg Lukacs of Hungary concluded that the Christianized West was the
obstacle standing in the way of a Communist New World Order. Gramsci believed
in achieving a de-Christianized Europe by means of “a long march through the
culture”. Additionally a new proletariat had to be created and he believed it
should be composed of criminals, women and racial minorities. (3).
Gramsci
reasoned that the new battleground must be the culture starting with the
traditional family. The Russian Communist revolution had introduced sex
instruction, abortion and made women go out to work – all contributed to the
destruction of family – which is an imperative for them if the Left is to get
complete control.
Family Attack: U.S. Senator Rick Santorum is a courageous Prolife
Catholic Republican.
Santorum
told Pro-Life Christians in America: “there will be an assault on the
institution of marriage. Why? Because the Left knows that they can’t really
have government come in and take control of everything unless they destroy the family”.
(4).
Gramsci
held that not only the family but churches, schools, media, entertainment ,
civic organisations, literature, science and history all must be radically
transformed and the social and cultural order gradually turned upside-down with
the new proletariat placed in power at the top. The British award-winning
journalist Melanie Phillips has written a new book with this title: The
World Turned Upside Down : The Global Battle Over God, Truth and Power
(Encounter Books). She says that right has turned into wrong, justice into
injustice, victim into victimizer and so on. (5).
The
rapid removal of many restraints in Western Society can lead to chaos. The
early Fathers of the Church used to speculate on the “Restrainer” holding back
the manifestation of the Anti Christ mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2:6. I
believe that the destruction of Christian culture is the removal of the
restrainer.
Cultural Marxism: In 1919 Georg Lukacs was appointed in charge of
culture in the short lived Bolshevik regime in Hungary. Immediately he
introduced plans to de-Christianize the country. He reasoned that if Christian
sexual ethics could be undermined among children, then both the hated
patriarchal family and the Church would be hamstrung. So graphic sex education was
organised combined with the deriding of Christian moral ethics, monogamy and
parental authority. Hungary’s youth fed a diet of atheism and radical sex
education and rejection of all authority easily turned into delinquents ranging
from bullies and petty thieves to sex predators, murderers and sociopaths. (6). Hungary is still reeling from this
aggressive sex education and has the biggest porn movie industry in Eastern
Europe. Gramsci and Lukacs were the precursors of Cultural Marxism.
Frankfort School: In 1923 the Frankfort School – a Marxist think tank
was founded by Georg Lukacs, Herbert Marcuse and Theodor Adorno in an attempt
to translate Marxism from economic terms into cultural terms and so infiltrate
and destroy Western Christian Values!. “Towards this end, Marcuse who favoured
polymorphous perversion expanded the ranks of Gramsci’s new proletariat by
including homosexuals, lesbians and transsexuals. Into this was spliced Lukacs
radical sex education and cultural terrorism tactics. Gramsci’s ‘long march’
was added in the mix, and then all of this was wedded to Freudian
psychoanalysis and psychological conditioning techniques. The end product was
Cultural Marxism now known in the West as Multiculturalism”. (7).
Pathologising Enemies: Additional big guns were brought into place: the
pathologising of what was going to be destroyed. By courtesy of the Frankfort
School, Theodor Adorno’s idea of the “authoritarian personality” was
introduced. Adorno’s concept was premised on the notion that (i) Christianity,
(ii) Capitalism and (iii) the traditional family easily lead to people prone to
racism and fascism. (Incidentally modern Russia where these three things were
missing for generations still manages to produce some of the greatest racists
and fascists in Europe). The upshot was that anyone who upholds traditional
moral values and institutions is both racist and fascist.
Politically Correct: Another diabolically crafted idea was political
correctness – that in order not to be thought of as racist or fascist, or God
forbid - conservative then one must not only be nonjudgmental but must also
embrace the ‘new’ moral absolutes : diversity, choice, sensitivity, sexual
orientation, equality and tolerance. Kimball holds that “political correctness
is a Machiavellian psychological ‘command and control’ device. Its purpose is
the imposition of uniformity in thought, speech and behaviour”. A Labour peer,
Lord Donoughue in 2010 expressed shame over the Labour Government’s ‘intolerant
bigotry’ towards Christians and attacked ‘politically correct zealots’ (8). The latter want implemented a new
morality imposed by the state which is hostile to Christianity especially
Catholics. A Labour Member of the European Parliament, which is nearly all
Socialist and anti Christian questioned whether Catholics should be allowed in
the Cabinet at all. Francis Fukuyama says of Christian Democratic (or
Socialist) parties in Europe that they ‘are democratic before they are
Christian’ and that Liberalism (or Socialism) has vanquished Religion from
Europe”. (9). I believe that this
vanquishing in Europe was not an accident but contrived. So the European Union
wants no acknowledgement whatsoever of its Christian past in its new
Constitution!
Critical Theory: Linda Kimball writes of another psychological
‘command and control’ device : ‘Critical Theory’. She quotes D.J. Flynn :
“Critical Theory, as its name implies criticizes. What deconstruction does to
literature Critical Theory does to societies”. Critical Theory is an ongoing
and brutal assault via vicious criticism relentlessly levelled against
Christians, Christmas, the Boy Scouts, The Ten Commandments and other aspects
of traditional culture and society. Kimball believes that both political
correctness and Critical Theory are in essence psychological bullying – the
psycho-political battering rams by which the Frankfort school disciples force
people to submit and obey the will and the way of the Left.
This includes the negative criticism of
Catholic groups like Opus Dei – The founder Escrivá was targeted for
assassination by the Republican socialists in Spain. Thousands of priests and
nuns were butchered in the socialist hatred, corpses of nuns disinterred and
subjected to vile rites. Pope Pius XI denounced ‘the Satanic enterprise’. Now,
the vile ‘La Pasionaria’ is the hero and Escrivá the villain. (10). A victim of Critical Theory? ‘Right has
turned into wrong and the vilifiers of Escrivá and other great saintly figures are
vilified even in our own Church ranks so successful has the disinformation
been. Even orthodoxy is pilloried as being Right Wing. (Read: Evil).
Ed Koch, the former mayor of New York and a Jew wrote: “I believe the
continuing attacks by the media on the Roman Catholic Church and Pope Benedict
XVI have become manifestations of anti-Catholicism. The procession of articles
on the same events are, in my opinion, no longer intended to inform but simply
to castigate. Many of those in the media who are pounding on the Church and the
Pope today clearly do it with delight and some with malice”. (11). I
believe that the media’s greatest weapon in demolishing traditional values is
via the highly addictive evening soap operas on T.V. These act as change agents
and smuggle alien ideas past the internal censor when people are tired after a
day’s work and resistance is low. Alien ideas like abortion, gay rights, euthanasia
etc. are promoted when people are most open and most vulnerable. Fr Benedict
Groeschel says that “the media is involved in a huge undermining of Catholic
and evangelical Churches.
Socialism and South Africa: “Secularism has been installed as the state religion
since 1994, according to Cardinal Wilfrid Napier of Durban...Cardinal Napier
said that as a nation we had turned away from God and the laws and customs that
honoured Him. All traditional human, and especially Christian, values and norms
have been steadily and methodically undermined and eroded. The national ethos
and particularly the laws and statutes were more those of unbelievers. Indeed,
in the case of abortion we have gone even further than the unbelievers have. (12). Socialists in R.S.A. seem to have
decided on evolutionary socialism. The long march through R.S.A. institutions
has begun. And in Latin America where the new socialist regimes are working
tirelessly to hamstring the Church and impose Fabian or Marxist Socialism.
Cardinal
Napier has again recently commented on the dramatic changes that have taken
place in this socialist state of South Africa. On homosexuality he says: “Ten
years ago it was a perversion, then it became a human right and now it is an
identity”. (13). It could only be
ideology of the Lukacs and Marcuses that perpetuates the gay myths not health
concerns. For example surveys show :
1. that the
median age of death for non aids gays is 42 years (45 for lesbians).
2. that 25% of
gay men (and 20% of women) have attempted suicide.
3. Homosexuality
has led to a host of new diseases like ‘gay bowel syndrome’ and increases in
typhoid due to unhygienic practices.
4. although only
1.5% - 2.5% of the U.S. population, gays constitute about a third of child
molesters. (13A).
Rightly
does Newsweek state that ‘ideology, not sound science, has perpetrated
the
1-in-10
myth’. And the ideology is the socialist ideology of Georg Lukacs, Herbert
Marcuse and Planned Parenthood. The President of the latter Frederick Joffee
proposed in 1969 in an internal memorandum that Planned Parenthood ‘encourage
increased homosexuality’ to reduce U.S. fertility!
Our
national Catholic family paper the Southern Cross also perpetuates these gay
myths with impunity. (cf. Southern Cross 31/07/2002).
Fabians: On the subject of change Liam Swords says that “all
the great moments of change in history for good or ill began with individuals
or small groups of like minded people”. (14).
This
is particularly true of an initially small group of socialists called the
Fabian Society. Though small they have had a profound influence on the world.
It was founded in England within a year of the death of Karl Marx in 1883. Its
aim was to promote his ideas but by gradualism, by evolution not revolution.
They worked for a one-world socialist government on a piecemeal basis rather
than a revolution. Some prominent names were Sidney and Beatrice Webb, H.G.
Wells, George Bernard Shaw, John Dewey, Margaret Sanger, Havlock Ellis and
Aldous and Julian Huxley etc.
All
of them seem to have been libertarians and had an antipathy towards
Christianity. Some of them like George Bernard Shaw and John Dewey travelled to
Soviet Russia and praised Bolshevikism, ignoring the millions of deaths in
Ukraine, probably agreeing with Lenin that in order to make a good omelette one
needs to smash some eggs first!
After
returning from the U.S.S.R., Dewey said that “the great task of the school is
to counteract and transform those domestic and neighbourhood tendencies... the
influence of home and church” (15).
Roy Jenkins, Home Affairs Minister in the Harold Wilson Labour Government was a
Fabian who famously remarked that “the permissive society is the civilised
society”. So Pope Benedict’s complaint that ‘filth has entered the Church’ is
probably the result of socialist education in schools.
Again
the socialist preoccupation with undermining the family to get complete
control. Dewey has had a profound and lamentable influence on U.S. schools.
Total Control: Socialism seems to attract control freaks and be
inherently totalitarian. This is not often recognised because for some
socialists it must be implemented gradually to avoid confrontation. Whether
it’s the socialism of the U.S.S.R. or National Socialism (Nazism) or National
Party Socialism in Apartheid South Africa or the African Socialism in President
Nyerere’s Tanzania, they must control everybody. In the latter case, 11 million
people were dumped out in the bush by forced removals so exceeding apartheid
R.S.A in people moving. (16).
Rupture with the Past: Socialism seems to believe in a hermeneutic of
discontinuity or rupture. De Tocqueville said that “democratic nations care
little for what has been”. (17).
Socialists
believe that history only began with the implementation of Socialism. John
Dewey in his socialist education did not want any learning by rote or reference
to the great educators of the past like Aquinas or Comenius as he believed that
what was important was what was happening now.
The
most extreme form of this socialist amnesia re the past and the need to start
afresh was in socialist Cambodia under Pol Pot. He wanted the country to return
to Year Zero and begin again. One of his many revolutionary slogans was “we will
burn the old grass and the new will grow”. Even many Catholics caught up in the
socialist ferment in Europe have also shown little regards for the past
particularly after Vatican II. One prominent parish in London excoriated a
Jesuit Mission priest for preaching on
the Rosary, the Sacred Heart of Jesus etc. as this was perceived by the Parish
Council as ‘pre Vatican II”!
All Capitalists Now: Socialism seems to have relinquished one of its most
important tenets: to destroy capitalism as all espouse this now bar one or two
regimes. China has state capitalism. But socialism still remains devoted to
destroying religion by stealth with its implementation of explicit sex
education everywhere including South Africa where it was implemented in obscene
haste.
Obscene Haste: Why the haste in implementing sex education
everywhere? Perhaps because as education researcher Erica Carle points out ‘sex
is the ultimate weapon in people taming and people control. When sex can be
established in the mind... as the dominant idea... the mind can be
incapacitated, the emotions destroyed, personal identity, family life and the
maternal and paternal feelings are eroded. All else can be forgotten or
regarded as unimportant, when the mind is captured by the dominant idea of
sex”. (17A).
Dr
James Parsons, a Florida psychologist says they are trying to create such an
obsession with sex among our young people that they have not time or interest
in spiritual pursuits”. (18). Dale
O’Leary, the American author opines that the “sexual left” want sexual pleasure
to be the highest good and so all that matters is sexual pleasure. Hence the
need for divorce, abortion, contraception and condoms because these things are
necessary for sexual pleasure”. (19).
Dostoevsky
said that “if God does not exist everything is permitted”. If there is no God
or afterlife we need to eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die. This may
explain the gargantuan appetites of many of the top socialists like Karl Marx,
Margaret Sanger, Havlock Ellis, Bertrand
Russell, Lavrenti Beria and Nicolai Yezhov (the most depraved
monsters of Stalin’s court), Herbert Marcuse, Chairman Mao the ‘satyr, porn
collector and sex maniac whose quarters swarmed with young women’ and who
described himself us ‘without law and without heaven’, (20). Aldous Huxley said “we were opposed to morality because it
interfered with our freedom” (21).
The above libertarians would rejoice at the explicit Planned Parenthood
textbooks used in U.S. and R.S.A. schools, where perversions like ‘autoerotic
asphyxia’ are discussed freely (22).
The P.P. textbooks introduced into South African from America are not
there to stop children from sexual activity but to encourage children to
become sexually active for tomorrow we die (23).
An article in The Star 15/01/1997 entitled ‘Too sexy, too soon’ decries the
sexualisation of children in R.S.A. Arnold Toynbee, one of the world’s greatest
authorities on history and culture, has pointed out the importance of allowing
children to imbibe a good all round education before the awakening of
disorderly urges. For Socialist, the sooner, the better.
Margaret Sanger: These debased characters
have had a profound influence on modern societies, universities, schools,
parliaments and even religious textbooks used in Catholic schools. The Jewish writer Elasah Drogin called the Fabian
socialist Margaret Sanger the “Father of modern society” in a book by that
name. (24). Sanger was also founder
of Planned Parenthood (P.P.). The latter was spawned in America during the
first 25 years of the 20th century by Sanger and her clique of
devotees which included Fabian socialists, anarchists, Nazis, militant
feminists, eugenicists, two husbands, sundry lovers and assorted ‘sycophants
and gigolos’ as her son once called them. Her life was also a mess and she
finished her life as a ravaged alcoholic demerol addict after blowing $5
million on a last fling before she died. (25).
Sanger
believed that birth control would eliminate what she called ‘human weeds’ and
‘genetically inferior races’. Sanger’s Planned Parenthood praised the one child
policy of China but believes in ‘more children from the fit and less from the
unfit’. Tony Blair is a Fabian, ex Chairman in fact, and his wife Cherie a
Planned Parenthood devotee and both are advocates of abortion. The fact that
they have four children, not one, is probably due to the fact that they see
themselves as belonging to the ‘more children from the fit’ category.
Sanger spoke
of a project to hire 3 or 4 coloured ministers ‘with engaging personalities’ to
travel through the black areas of the U.S.A. and propagandise for birth
control. (26). Barack Obama has an
engaging personality and seems to be doing this job with relish, if his track
record on abortion and his espousing partial birth abortion and gay marriage,
is anything to go by.
Sanger
believed that the most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its
infant members is to kill it. She claimed that no one can doubt that abortion
is justifiable. She aimed in her own words to exterminate the Negro (Black)
population by birth control. (27).
Strange that Obama a Black man should be such a big supporter of this racism
and culture of death admired and implemented by Hitler an admirer of Sanger.
Nevertheless
this Planned Parenthood racism and moral anarchy were introduced into all South
African schools after 1994, so that Planned Parenthood could do as it wished
with South African children. Lynette Burrows writing on Planned Parenthood’s
global war on the family says that “we must have the most diseased generation
of young people there has ever been”. (28).
This
diseased generation is largely due I believe to socialist ideology. Socialists
have been more ideological than pragmatic. Leon Trotsky admitted this before
Stalin put an ice pick in his skull! Trotsky said: “Life proved more
complicated than theory ever anticipated.
Outcomes Based Education: For example the Outcomes
Based Education (O.B.E.) was introduced into R.S.A. by the new regime even though
it was a disastrous failure everywhere and had to be removed at vast expanse.
But it was politically correct, at least in socialist circles. Socialists of
course have not much time for history, and “those who are ignorant of history
are doomed to repeat its mistakes”. But ideology won through. Perhaps they
believe with Abraham Lincoln that “the philosophy of the classroom in one
generation will be the philosophy of the government in the next generation”.
In October
2008, the former University of Cape Town Vice Chancellor and World Bank
Director Mamphela Rampele said that the education system in R.S.A. must be
completely overhauled and the Outcomes Based Education done away with. “It has
failed our nation”, she said urging a return to the four R’s : reading,
writing, arithmetic and reasoning. She said: “We have chosen the worst
curriculum policy that you could ever imagine … not a single country in this
world that has undertaken O.B.E. has succeeded. Canada tried it, they dumped it.
The U.K., the Netherlands and New Zealand tried it, they dumped it”.
Rampele said
that the tragedy of the failure to correct the choice made in favour of O.B.E.
was that the country was failing 80% of its poor young people”. (29). Education ideology like sex
education ideology rules supreme even tho’ both were disastrous failures before
implementation in R.S.A. No one is prepared to bite the bullet and remove it.
The
education policy resulted in bans on school prayer assemblies and Bible reading
even tho’ the majority of South Africans claim to be Christians. Abortion and
gay marriage were introduced in spite of opposition from the majority of the
people. Even the heir apparent to the Presidency Jacob Zuma had to retract a
statement saying he could not stand gays. The ruling elite made sure of that.
If the
democracy is “government of the people, by the people and for the people” (30) it does not seem to be happening
in R.S.A. or the U.S.A. Secular humanists in America are only about 7.3 million
– a small fraction of America’s population of 270 million, yet they have
virtual control of the national media, book distribution, education and
government. Whilst the vast majority of people in America believe in God, they
are not allowed to say a prayer in school! The land of the free!
Democracy: Democracy seems to have a
terrible weakness in allowing dedicated cliques to become an oligarchy as we
now see happening in the European Union (E.U.). But then leading Socialists
like Sanger detested the democratic process and her ideal form of government
was one in which an elite ruled by an aristocratic form of government. (31).
According to
an article in The Australian, “the leaders of the E.U. hate elections to
the European parliament. Why? Because these caricatures of democratic
decision-making expose the contempt with which the European public regards the
oligarchy that runs the E.U.”. (32).
Oligarchy is
the rule of the many by the few. The article goes on to say that there is a
deliberate plan “to distance political decision-making from the gaze of
European citizens” and to insulate the oligarchy from the kind of public
pressure and forms of accountability that they experience in their national
parliaments”.
The newer
states of Europe fought hard to get their autonomy and self-determination and
now they surrender it all over to the faceless bureaucrats of Brussels!
It’s sad
that America – at least Democratic Party America is buying into the whole
European socialist agenda. Former Democratic Party Chairman H. Dean on December
8, 2009 said that cooperation between the European Socialists and the
Democratic Party had intensified significantly. (33). The European culture of death cooperates with the U.S.
culture of death! A Democratic Pro-Lifer is virtually an oxymoron!
Futurologists: In 1962 the socialist
Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister of Israel seemed to have remarkable
prescience. He was invited in 1962 to predict what the world would be like in
25 years time, and he stated that Western and Eastern Europe will become a
federation of autonomous states having a Socialist and Democratic regime and
all other continents will become united in a world alliance, at whose disposal
will be an international police force and Jerusalem will become the scene of
the Supreme Court of mankind. Seemingly the U.S.A. will become “a welfare state
with a planned economy”. (33A). Perceptive
writers and futurologists like de Tocqueville, Dostoevsky, George Orwell (1984)
and Aldous Huxley (Brave New World) Ira Levin (This Perfect Day) all seem to be
alarmed at what they perceive to be the path of democracies of the future – all
seem to be socialist and totalitarian and when one looks at the way the
European Union (E.U.) for instance, is being run, they were right to be
alarmed. All the Soviet Socialist States were snooping, spying societies with
pervasive government surveillance because in the absence of any system of
inviolable, religiously based absolutes, anything goes which can lead to
anarchy, so society must be policed by eternal surveillance reminiscent of the
movie the “Trueman Show”.
In the case
of Aldous Huxley his prescience is probably less to do with prophetic gifts
than with the fact that he lived cheek by jowl with the Fabian Socialists and
probably heard them discuss regularly the Brave New World of social engineering
in the future. One theory for Orwell’s Choice of 1984 was that it was the
founding centenary of the totalitarian inclined Fabian Society (Wikipedia:
1984). Huxley’s brother Julian was like his father a great populariser of
Darwin’s evolution, a materialistic world view where people are nothing more
than ‘socially-constructed atomized robots which can presumably be
deconstructed and melted into an atomized mass”. (34).
‘They would have us believe that live matter evolved from inanimate matter,
which is a kind of magic. That is a species of superstitious belief”. (35).
So Huxley
mixing regularly with this culture of death crowd is probably only reporting in
‘Brave New World’ what he heard discussed by Fabian social engineers when they
met regularly. e.g. “a world of absolute sexual license and absolute
reproductive tyranny; a world where truth is a menace to universal peace and
religion is pornography; a world where the word ‘mother’ is an obscenity and
‘father’ a scatological reference; a world where all that matters is one’s
‘comfort and happiness’ for which all must pay a small price, that of
surrendering one’s humanity” (36)
and freewill. And if people are only ‘atomised robots’ why not? This could
explain the mega deaths under socialism in the U.S.S.R., China, Nazi Germany,
North Korea where people were deconstructed as never before in history. The
mega deaths by abortion continue apace in socialist countries.
“Rebellion is a Sin or Sorcery”
(1 Samuel 15:23):
Not only were many socialists sexual antinomians but many seem to have dabbled
regularly in the occult, so giving the lie that they only believed in a
materialistic universe. Perhaps with the surrender of socialism’s preoccupation
with the abolition of private property without hardly a murmur, it may be that
socialism was really a monumental revolt and hatred for God posing as economic
theory. Feodor Dostoevsky certainly thought so. Let’s look at the facts.
Karl Marx: Karl Marx’s earliest youthful
poetry spews out venom and hatred of God. His father warned him of involvement
with the demonic. His closest colleagues who called him ‘the Destroyer’ were
nearly all dabblers in the occult e.g. Bakunin, Proudhon and Engels but the
latter converted to Christianity before he died. Engels called Marx ‘a monster
possessed by 10,000 devils’. Giuseppe Manzini, the Freemason associate of Marx
said ‘he had a destructive spirit. His heart bursts with hatred rather than
with love towards men’. The great historian Robert Payne said that Marx had ‘the
devil’s malignity and knew he was accomplishing works of evil’. If, ‘by their
fruits you will know them’, his were very bad indeed : he detested Jews and
Blacks, half his children died of starvation and half of suicide. Like all
occultists his family life was a mess and all his family seemed to have been involved
in the God-hating, Satan-loving Theosophical Society. Marx’s daughter Tussy
married a leading Theosophist. Marx when he read the Origin of the Species by
Darwin exulted that God had been given “the death blow’. (37).
Besant and Sanger: Marx’s Theosophist
son-in-law was a big friend of Annie Besant of the Fabians and an occultist.
Annie Besant was a great rebel and birth control pioneer and became leader of
the occult Theosophical Society. Margaret Sanger the most influential Fabian
practiced Rosicrucian
occultism and regularly attended séances. (38).
Her family was also in a mess.
Two
occultists who moved in Fabian circles were Alice Bailey and Marie Stopes
(whose abortion clinics are all over R.S.A). Alice Bailey believed that Lucifer
was the ‘Ruler of Humanity’ and she founded the Lucifer or Lucis Trust which
sponsors World Goodwill, a political lobby group headquartered on the United
Nations Plaza in New York. Bailey’s books give specific instructions for
implementing ‘the Plan’ – a one world government and a one world Religion i.e.
Theosophy. (38A).
At the core
of this Planned New World Religion is the ‘Luciferic Consecration or Great
Invocation. It was mass produced in small prayer card format in R.S.A. in 1988,
adorned with Christian symbols and distributed to churches via Christian
bookshops all over the country deceptively as a prayer for unity. There were a
lot of red faces amongst Christians and their pastors who participated in this
prayer service when it was later discovered to be of occult origin!
Marie Stopes
was Britain’s answer to Margaret Sanger, and like Sanger she was a socialist
and occultist. She insinuated herself into the Anglican Bishops’ Lambert
Conference with ‘a message from God’ : that the bishops were to end their
hostility to contraception which they did in 1930 and the rest of Protestantism
followed like sheep even though it was against nearly 2000 years of what
Christianity taught – including Luther and Calvin. Marie Stopes found Anglican
bishops very pliable and hated Catholic bishops because they weren’t! (38B).
All who
dabble in occultism seem to be anti life and culture of death, probably because
their father Satan ‘was a liar and a murderer from the beginning’. (John 8:44).
As I have
said Dostoevsky that great seer of totalitarianism, writing about the year 1877,
believed that the 19th century would end for old Europe with
something colossal, “so irresistible and terrifying that it would change the
face of the earth, at any rate in Western Europe”. (39).
“Dostoevsky
was totally hostile to this coming revolution because he believed that this
movement for social reform was inspired and controlled by persons who were
rebels against God and who, therefore far from leading humanity into the
Promised Land would drag it into a state of slavery and oppression.
Dostoevsky
discovered the deep-seated religious motive behind the coming rebellion; he
defined it as a collective expression of refusal to play the game according to
God’s rules which he so often described as the cause of the inner
disintegration of an individual. His view was that instigators of the
approaching revolution hated God and despised humanity, his creation; that they
were convinced that they alone knew the truth, that the common man left to
himself would act like a fool. Therefore, they were determined to use every
form of compulsion and deceit in order to force people to take the road which
would lead them to the earthly paradise of their own making. They asserted
that, as God had failed to create a world satisfying to human beings, they had
to rebuild it on a new plan, because they had the secret of universal
happiness”. (40). Man made utopias
have led to man made hells. (41).
Conclusion: Socialism, in spite of the
above critique has achieved many good things like social welfare and a national
health service as well as free education. But I believe that these would have
been achieved anyway by the pre-Marxist social movements or Christian socialism
(which helped form the first trade unions). I believe that the magnanimous call
by Nelson Mandela for Reconciliation after 25 years in a South African prison
owes nothing to his socialism and a lot to his Christian upbringing at home in
Transkei.
Doctrinaire
Marxism, both the revolutionary and evolutionary brands have been a disaster
for the world. Under revolutionary Marxism more than a 100 million people have
died. Under evolutionary or Fabian socialism millions of unborn children have
been aborted, families have been destroyed, marriages broken by libertarian
ideas. Marxist theory talked of the “dictatorship of the proletariat” but in
reality it was the dictatorship of the oligarchy, the ‘new class’ (Djilas) or
the ‘ruling class of managers’. (L. Plyusch).
The same
thing is happening today under Fabian or Democratic socialism as we saw above
in the takeover of the European Union by an oligarchy or in the U.S.A. ‘a sham
democracy, a corporate-managerial state run by secularized elites contemptuous
of middle America’. The more things change the more they remain the same!
“Russia will
spread its errors throughout the world”. (Blessed Virgin Mary, Fatima, 1917).
