ANGUS BUCHAN AND NEW AGE ASSOCIATES
Nick Maartens, the South African
author writes in his article Angus Buchan and Associates of the
association between Angus Buchan, Graham Power and Dr. Dion Forster as a matter
of “grave concern”. (1)
Seemingly Graham Power had an
out-of-the-body experience and heard, he says, God’s voice booming: “I am the
spine”, over and over again and on that basis of this experience he initiated
the Global Day of Prayer. Maartens comments on this by quoting 1 John 4:1: “. .
. do not believe every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they are from
God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world”. (2)
BEDE GRIFFITHS:
Dr. Dion Forster is the author of Christ
at the Centre: Discovering the Cosmic Christ in the Spirituality of Bede
Griffiths. He also wrote “An Uncommon Spiritual Path – the Quest
to Find Jesus Beyond Conventional Christianity. Dr. Foster says of the
latter book: “At its core this book is a discussion of Fr. Bede Griffiths’
wonderfully rich Christology”.
I also suggest that
this should be of concern to Christians and all dominations in South Africa who
have looked up to Angus Buchan’s Biblical teaching, been inspired by his movie Faith
like Potatoes or have attended his “Mighty Men” rallies.The “monk” that
Buchan’s’ friend admires Bede Griffiths (baptised as Alan) was an English
Protestant who became a Catholic and then immediately a Catholic monk, went to
India as a missionary and for all intents and purposes became a Hindu (or
rather a Theosophical) monk! Fr. Peter Milward S.J of Sophia University, Tokyo said,
“Fr. Bede has betrayed the very cause that brought him to India”. (3)
OVERVIEW:
In this paper I would like to show
that Theosophy has a venomous dislike for Judeo – Christian religion and is closely
linked with Freemasonry, the New Age Movement and Marxism as Karl Marx and his
family were enamoured with Theosophy, the fore runner of the New Age Movement.
All of these movements can perhaps be regarded as Gnostic – and Luciferian.
Gnosticism was one of the greatest heresies in the early Church and was a
violent rejection of the Jewish God. This Gnostic occult movement has had a
detrimental effect on Christianity through the centuries in its infiltration of
the churches and is still a great threat today as it has unrivalled influence
on the U.N which strongly pushes what Pope John Paul called “the culture of
death”. Pope Benedict could have been writing of the U.N recently when he
referred to “a worldwide dictatorship of seemingly humanistic ideologies”. (4)
THEOSOPHY
The word Theosophy is from the Greek
– Theos(God) and Sophia(wisdom) suggesting a mystical knowledge of the divine.
It is a melange of esoteric Buddhism, Lamaist doctrines from Tibet, Hindu
mysticism and a romantic picture of world history which postulates a
non-physical period of prehistoric evolution with the ecosphere gradually
solidifying into matter, and a series of root races stretching all the way back
to lost Atlantis”! (5)
In 1875 a Theosophical Society was
founded by Helena Blavatsky, a Russian Orthodox aristocrat
(1831 – 1891). Her great grandfather
Pavel Dolgorukov was a prominent Freemason and she became fascinated by his
library of esoterica, which subject was to be a consuming passion for the rest
of her life. She was to meet many Masons in her life. She was an inveterate
traveller.
Eventually she founded a magazine in
London called Lucifer with lots of articles on what was later to be
called the New Age Movement (NAM). The New Age was a reference astrologically
to the passing of the vernal equinox from the Zodiac constellation of Pisces
(the fishes) to the constellation of Aquarius (the Water bearer) at vaguely the
start of the 21st century. The fish representing faith in Christ was
to pass away and be replaced by the Age of Aquarius. So, for the superstitious
the era of Christ will come to an end and a New Age, liberated from
Christianity begin! Seemingly the first to rejoice in the coming New Age were
Scottish rite Masons in the USA in the 19th century in their
magazine New Age. They show an implacable hostility to Christianity in
general and the Catholic Church in particular.
For the NAM there is no consensus as
to the exact date of the move from Pisces to Aquarius. This vagueness is typical
of this movement. C.S Lewis who was once into Theosophy, he was later to refer
to it as “a swamp”, said of it “there was nothing to be obeyed and nothing to
be believed”. (6)
Its whatever! A frequent and valid
criticism made against Madame Blavatsky was that she showed a cavalier
disregard for mainline Hinduism and Buddhism and other world religions. She was
a law to herself, antinomian to the extreme. It was all pick and mix as with
the NAM today. Blavatsky believed with Universalism and the Perennial
Philosophy that all religions, underneath seeming differences, point to the
same truth. This too was the belief of Bede Griffiths. In contrast, C.S Lewis
who taught Griffiths at Oxford believed that “all religions are really a
preview or perversion of Christianity”. Even though Griffiths and Inkling Owen
Barfield were into Theosophy, Lewis dedicated his Surprised by Joy book to the
former probably hoping he would be weaned from his Theosophy
The belief that all religions are the
same is certainly not the belief of Biblical Christianity:
“There is no other Name under Heaven
by which we can be saved than the Name of Jesus” (cf Acts 4:12) “There is only
one God and there is only one mediator between God and man: Jesus Christ”
(1Timothy 2:5). Jesus said: “I am the
Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me”
(John 14:6). See also John 3:36, 1 John 5:12 etc

Theosophy and Freemasonry are
tolerant of all world religions except Orthodox Judaism and Christianity.
Jewish Kabbalah and Liberal Christianity are no problem! Olav Hammer in a Wiki
article said that Blavatsky’s “antisemitism derives from the unfortunate
position of Judaism in the origins of Christianity”!
NEW AGE MOVEMENT
The wiki article goes on to say that
“no single organisation or movement has contributed so many components to the
New Age movement. . . . as the
Theosophical Society. . . It has been the major force in the dissemination of
occult literature in the west in the 20th century”. (7)
Mother Basilea Schlink, the Lutheran
nun has written an excellent booklet on the NAM. She states: “A worldwide
network of many thousands of co-operating organisations, the New Age Movement
aims primarily at the formation of a “New World Order” marked by “group
consciousness” and “synergy” (combined action). This is the secret behind its
“unity-in-diversity”.
Basic to the New Age system is the
belief in an “inner government” of our planet by a hierarchy of spirits or
“masters of wisdom” who are in reality demonic beings.
The New Age Movement is a synthesis
of Eastern religions and the old “Mystery Teachings”, and a combination of Gnosticism
and spiritism, based on esoteric (secret) teaching transmitted by demonic
entities. This accounts for the varied forms of occultism it includes, such as
clairvoyance, astrology, hypnosis, UFOlogy and yoga practices, plus mythology,
pantheism, the belief in reincarnation and a renaissance of witchcraft.
Consequently, the aspired New World Order has no room for the God of the
Christians: in his place Lucifer is to be enthroned. Ultimately, the driving
force behind the New Age Movement is nothing other than Lucifer’s desire to be
worshipped as God.
The radical vanguard of the New Age
feminist movement is already demanding that the Christian faith be replaced by
the myth of Gaia “Mother Earth”, whose cult is now being revived and practised.
By adopting the ancient practice of equating “women” with “nature”, they
deliberately revert to the concepts of bygone pagan cultures and their
associated goddesses, such as Iris, Astarte, Demeter and Hera.
Also significant is the New Age link
with prominent, international organisations such as the UNO, UNESCO, World
Council of Churches, Club of Rome, Rockefeller Foundation, Ford Foundation,
Trilateral Commission, Bilderberg Group, the Freemasons and, at the head, the
Illuminati. New Age goals are promoted by leading personalities such as Robert
Muller, who in his function as Assistant Secretary-General of the United
Nations and Secretary of the UN Economic and Social Council did much towards
these ends.
New Age Philosophy
The New Age Movement aspires after a
new and perfect world, but if this goal is to be attained there will have to be
a “Paradigm Shift” (a change in the conventional way of thinking)
according to New Age philosophy”.
The Plan communicated via mediumistic
dictations to Alice Bailey consists of the establishment of a New World Order,
a New World Government and a New World Religion. The main political goal of the
New Age Movement is global control. “The dissolution and/or destruction of
individual nation states in the interests of peace and conservation” are openly
advocated. (8)
As can be seen from these brief
quotes from the New Age people and their demonic entities, they mean business
and are prepared to use coercion to achieve “The Plan”. The NAM guru David
Spangler communicated with a spirit entity that promised dire consequences for
Judeo-Christianity e.g. the use of “nuclear devices”. This entity speaks of
‘atomic power being released and tells his disciples not to worry as war and
destruction are illusion anyway”! (9)
GNOSTICISM
According to the Wiki article on
Madame Blavatsky “she made much favourable use of Gnosticism”. This was a
variety of religious ideas and systems originating in a Jewish/Christian
milieux. It probably would have seriously damaged the early church if it had
not been for the decisive leadership of the Bishop of Lyons St Irenaeus (c.
130-202 A.D) who launched his counter attack in his great work Adversus Haereses.
The Jesus of the Gnostic Gospels speaks of “illusion” and enlightenment”, not
of sin and repentance as the real Jesus in the canonical Gospels. This is
similar to Hindu/Buddhist terminology.
MASONS IN ROME
In 2013 Pope Francis warned of a “Lobby
of Masons in the Vatican (10).
This is probably what Pope Benedict
was referring to a few years before he became Pope, when he stated,
“Freemasonry is the greatest danger to the Church” (11)
The statement by Pope Francis alarmed
the Catholics all over the world because of the relentless hostility of
Freemasons to Catholicism which led to eleven Popes since 1738 condemning
masonry. In 1983 the Vatican in a
clarification declared that Catholics joining Masonry were in grave sin and
could not receive Holy Communion. This is still the situation today.
In 1917 a young Polish seminarian in
Rome witnessed masonic revelry marking the 200th anniversary of the
foundation of the official masonry in London in 1717. He was dismayed to see
banners declaring that “Satan must reign in the Vatican”. He was later
canonised as St Maximilian Kolbe whose heroic stand against the Nazis earned
him the martyr’s crown and a niche for his statue at Westminster Abbey, London
beside the South African martyr Manche Masemola.
SATAN/LUCIFER
Albert Pike (1809-1891) is possibly
the best known American Mason. As he was a general in the confederate army
fighting for slavery to be retained, his statue in Washington, erected by
Masons led to Civil Rights activists demanding removal of this racist person.
Pike in his book Morals and Dogma wrote: “Lucifer, the son of the
morning! Is it he who bears the light, and with it splendours intolerable
blinds feeble, sensual or selfish souls? Doubt it not”!
Theosophists too praised Lucifer the “Ruler
of Humanity” and initiation into Theosophy involves reciting the “Great
Invocation” by Alice Bailey the Theosophist which is a consecration to Lucifer.
It was she who founded the Lucifer Publishing company (now Lucis Trust AKA as
World Goodwill) an NGO at the UN and maintains the Meditation room in the UN
headquarters.
In 1988 the South African branch of
Lucis Trust based in Pietermaritzburg attempted to get South Africans to
consecrate themselves to Lucifer by the “Great Invocation”. Expensively
produced book markers in blue, white and gold were produced with Christian-like
symbols and the Invocation, which to the uninitiated looked like a prayer for
Christian Unity Week. These were handed out free to Christian bookshops. But if
Christians did use the Invocations innocently as a prayer for Christian Unity
it would not have been a Luciferian consecration as for something to be sinful
in traditional Christianity there must be full knowledge and full consent.
Obviously, these were missing, and Luciferians were miffed again.
Pastor Richard Warmbrand (b. 1909)
was of Jewish Romanian background and became a Communist Comintern agent in the
Soviet Union. Both he and his Jewish wife converted to Christianity and he
became a pastor and had to suffer terribly for his faith. With all his
experience of Marxism and Soviet Satanism he produced a small book in an exploratory
manner entitled Was Karl Marx a Satanist? He concluded that he was and
the book has been revised and enlarged and is available on the internet as Marx,
Prophet of Darkness.
He
shows in the book that Marxism, Theosophy and Freemasonry were in an unholy
alliance- all rebels and united in hatred of the Biblical God. He writes: “The
connection between Marxism and Theosophy is not accidental. Theosophy has
spread in the West the Indian doctrine of the non-existence of the individual
soul. What Theosophy does through persuasion; Marxism does through the power of
the whip. It depersonalises men, changing them into robots submissive to the
state (12)
Another Marxist praiser of Lucifer
was Saul Alinsky (1909-1972) the American radical. In his book Rules for
Radicals he acknowledges Lucifer “the first radical who rebelled against
the establishment and did it so effectively that he won his own Kingdom”. One
of Marx’s collaborators in the first Communist International Mikhail Bakunin a
Freemason said that Socialist recognise each other by the words “In the name of
the one to whom a great wrong has been done” (13) That is Lucifer. They want
him rehabilitated! In one of his poems Marx wrote “I wish to avenge myself
against the one who rules above”
Maybe all this sympathy for Satan is
succeeding today as Netflix in the USA has resurrected a blasphemous series
entitled Lucifer which centres round Lucifer as an innocent and likable
character and victim of a tyrannical God.
INFILTRATION:
Pope Francis warning about the
Masonic cabal at the Vatican led one American Catholic to investigate and write
a book: Dr. Taylor Marshall’s Infiltration which was presented by the
author to Pope Francis at the Vatican last year 2019. But before the Vatican was
ostensibly infiltrated by the Masons, it is worth pointing out that the
Protestant Church in Italy got infiltrated first because it is Christianity as a whole
that is hated not just Catholics as can be seen from history.
WALDENSIANS:
In Italy in the 19th
century committed Masons had converted to the Waldensians as “true Christians”
to demonstrate their opposition to the Catholic Church. Effectively it was
infiltration and this was going on at a time of unprecedented Vatican
declarations against masonry and other secret societies. From 1738 until 1983
eleven popes have made pronouncements about the absolute incompatibility of
Catholic doctrine and masonry.
From 1880-85, the
Grand Master of the Grand Orient masons in Italy was Giuseppe Petroni, pastor
of the Baptist Chapel of Rome and then of the Methodists at Terni. Among the
noted Masons and Protestant pastors in Italy in the 19th century were
William Burgess, Tefilo Gay, Savario Fera, Ugo Janni and Tito Signorelli. (14)
In 2017 the Waldensian
Evangelical Church became the first Protestant Church in Italy to formally
offer to ‘bless’ same sex couples in civil partnerships. Gay ‘blessings’ have
been offered by the church since 2010. (15)
FREEM ASONRY
PRAISED
“Marilyn Ferguson
[Author of The Aquarian Conspiracy] admits that the transcendentalists
and Masonry were important antecedents to the New Age Movement [NAM].
William Thompson discusses the occult background to the NAM in the paper
entitled Sixteen years into the New Age published in Reimagination of
the World by David Spangler /William Thompson. He admits that Freemasonry
is an important vehicle for the transmission of these ideas (p19). Benjamin
Crème says that the new religion that will emerge from the NAM ‘will manifest
through organisations like Masonry. In Freemasonry is embedded
the core or the secret heart of the occult mysteries…” He goes on to say that
it is through the Order of Masonry that the Initiatory Path will be
trodden… and also through the purified churches’. -purified by the NAM
teachings that is.
Alice Bailey the
Theosophist in her book, The Externalisation of the Hierarchy says that
the 3 main channels through which the New World Religion will accomplish its
plans are the “church”, Freemasonry, and education. (16)
KING JAMES BIBLE
The unrelenting attack on
Christianity by the occult forces can be seen in the crisis over the first
edition of the King James Bible. When scholars finished the translation, they
handed it over to King James I who was a Rosicrucian Mason and the first
English king to be so. English royalty has a long tradition of Masonry. King
James handed the Bible to the occulist Sir Francis Bacon who kept it for a year
adding Masonic and Rosicrucian additions. Contemporary Protestants when they
saw the finished product were aghast and rejected the Bible as “a wicked… Bible
from that wicked king”. Eventually around 1650 a new addition of the Bible was
published with seemingly offending additions removed. (17)
The
American Masonic scholar Manly P. Hall wrote:
“The first addition of the King James
Bible which was edited by Francis Bacon and prepared under Masonic supervision
bears more Masonic marks than the Cathedral of Strasburg”.
MARIE STOPES
More occult infiltration of
Christianity happened in the 1920’s and 1930’s in England. The Theosophist and
Socialist Marie Stopes insinuated herself into the Anglican bishops Lambeth
Conference professing to be to a prophet from God. She claimed a voice spoke to
her as she sat under her yew tree, like the Buddha sitting under his bo tree.
She claimed this was the voice of God telling her to relay to the bishops that
they were to change the Christian teaching on birth control as sexual union was
not for procreation but for pleasure and that couples should use the best means
of birth control.
Even
though the Bible says “not every spirit comes from God. Test them to see
whether they are from God” (1 John 4:1), amazingly the bishops listened to her
an occulist, possibly influenced by Masonic bishops as at least two Anglican
Archbishops of Canterbury have been Masons. Birth control was approved by the
bishops and the other Protestant churches followed soon after even though it
was against nearly 2000 years of what Christianity taught – including Luther
and Calvin. The Catholic bishops refused to listen to her so Marie Stopes
declared them “a curse, or something worse”! (19)
Justin Welby, the Anglican Archbishop
of Canterbury, allowed a full Masonic service to be conducted in Canterbury
Cathedral the Mother Church of Christianity in England, on the same day as
English Catholics were celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Marian
apparitions at Fatima at Westminster Cathedral on 18th February 2017. At the
original Fatima apparitions, the Masonic fury knew no bounds and the 3 children
were tortured by them. The Masonic service at Canterbury marked the 300th
anniversary of the foundation of Masonry’s first Grand Lodge in London in 1717.
The Dean of Canterbury Cathedral presided and the Duke of Kent, the Grand
Master also celebrated. Archbishop Welby received a large Masonic donation for
restoration work at the Cathedral.
Peter
Horobin, the English Evangelical and Oxford academic who was called to
deliverance ministry in 1986 is greatly involved undoing the spiritual damage
caused to people by their Masonic forebears. He wrote:
“In churches it is often the sins of
the leadership of the church in previous generations that have given demons a
right over the fellowship. For example, there are many Anglican churches whose
foundation or dedication ceremonies included in Masonic rituals, sometimes as
an acknowledgement and thanks to the local Freemasons who contributed money
toward the building of the church.
The practice of Freemasonry is
Idolatry. Idolatry is an anathema to the living God. The commandments warn us
that the sins of the fathers in this respect will be visited on the children
for three or four generations (Exodus 20:4-5). And if during those four
generations there is further idolatry, a new line of demonic control is
established.
Spirits of Freemasonry will
legalistically exercise their right over whatever congregation is gathered in
that church for all of time”. (Healing through Deliverance, page 113).
Once the door is opened to the occult
it must be firmly closed again by sincere repentance.
Jonathan Freeland said that Marie Stopes was a
“hardline Eugenicist” determined that the “hordes of defectives” be reduced in
number, thereby placing less of a burden on the “fit”. She like many socialists
believed in “multiplying the thoroughbreds and weeding out the runts”, so she
adored that other socialist: Adolf Hitler and sent him love letters! Many of
the “eugenicists” were found among the luminaries of the Fabian and Socialist
left including George Bernard Shaw who believed that “defectives be dealt with
by means of a “lethal chamber”. At a time when Jews were regarded as the chief
threat of alien dilution of English blood, Shaw described “Jews as the real
enemy, the invader from the East, the ruffian, the oriental parasite”. Freedland says the trouble began with Charles
Darwin. “Suddenly the religious notion that all life was equally sacred was
under attack”. Karl Marx acknowledges his debt to Darwin and dedicated an early
edition of Das Kapital to him. Freeland refers to the genocides
committed in the name of communism but “they escaped the reckoning” and still
do. There have been no Nuremberg style trials for Communists as there have been
for Nazis.
PRESBYTERIAN MASONRY
One
of the most important figures in early Masonry was Dr. James Anderson
(1684-1739), a Scottish Presbyterian minister, who in his Book of Constitutions
maintained that the Masonic craft was founded by God. This book was so
important the Freemason Benjamin Franklin published an edition in 1734. It was
Franklin who introduced Voltaire to the Craft in Paris.
Masonic
lodges in England, Northern Europe and America drew their membership largely
from Protestant churches whilst lodges in Latin countries have appealed to
free-thinkers and anticlericals. Many Anglican bishops have entered the higher
degrees of Freemasonry and Dr. Geoffrey Fisher was the
second archbishop of Canterbury to
wear the Masonic apron.
Britain’s
800,000 Freemasons meeting secretly in 8000 lodges in the U.K account for one
in sixty adult males. Reportedly they have formed a secret link between the
most powerful institutions of the nation, infiltrated parliament, the judicial
system, newspapers and fire and police departments, with over 60% of the police
being Freemasons (21)
Masonic
alliances supersede the laws of the land as loyalty to the brotherhood cap all
other loyalties. Oaths are sworn of mutual defence and support and they have
cell-like structures. Freemasonry is mainly a British institution and has
flourished mainly in the British Isles and former British Colonies like Canada,
Australia and New Zealand especially in the police forces. So when the
Australian Cardinal Pell imprisoned by an aptly named “kangaroo court” was
released and exonerated he said that ‘senior people in Rome’ believe his
conviction and imprisonment was related to trouble he was causing to corrupt
officials in the Vatican as he doggedly led the financial reforms there.
Perhaps the Masonic clique Pope Francis warned about called on the Australian
brotherhood for assistance. Pope Francis has said that corruption is worse than
any sin because it hardens the heart against feeling shame or guilt”.
The
South African Mail and Guardian in an editorial entitled Transparency
and Secrets don’t Mix asked: Is it possible to belong to a secret society
and subscribe to values such as fairness and openness? Some in the Democratic
Alliance don’t think so. They have complained to the party’s National
Leadership that Freemasons of a certain lodge favoured each other in compiling
candidates lists for the August 3 local elections in the Tshwane Metro”. (22)
Also brought up, was the issue of Watty Watson the D.A’s late Chief whip who
was the Grand master of the Freemasons in South Africa, the highest office a Mason
can attain. The DA seems greatly influenced by Masonry and Fabian socialism
along with its cheerleader Radio 702. Putative DA leader John Steenhusen
demands African action now on LGBT rights!
It
is amazing how so many Christians in the British Colonies countenanced Masonry
and turned a blind eye to imperialists like Cecil Rhodes a prominent Mason.
They seem to be more
“Empire Loyalists” than Christian and obviously lacked discernment. They followed a different drummer to Christianity. “Christ is not the ally of Belial” (2 Corinthians 6:15)

Since
the time of James Anderson, the Presbyterian Church in Scotland seems to have
been compromised as often the Church and the lodge were bedfellows. This was
also true of the Presbyterian church in the British north of Ireland. In 1796
James Wilson an ardent Mason founded the Orange Order – a Masonic style
fraternity. The ex Mason/Orangeman Pastor Paul Malcolmson in his exposé Behind Closed Doors showed how all Protestant Orange
groups were vitiated by Masonry. He now lives in the U.S.A! just as James
Wilson was setting up his Masonic style Orange Order in the North of Ireland,
in the South, one Daniel O’ Connell, the Irish liberator was leaving the
Freemasons as he was informed that it was incompatible with being a Catholic.
DUNDEE KZN
In
the once British Colony of Natal, the Presbyterian Church in Dundee was built
by Scottish settlers along with an adjacent Masonic Lodge on the same piece of
land. The Church architecture showed Masonic symbolism. A zealous new lady
pastor at the turn of the millennium demanded their removal but got no
cooperation, so she called a meeting of the elders who defended Masonry and
said it was compatible with Christianity which she vehemently denied. She then
asked them if the Masonic god Jabulon was compatible with Christianity.
Realising that she was well versed in Masonry, they left the meeting and she
removed the masonic symbols in the Church. Jabulon is a blasphemous unholy
trinity of Ja (Jahweh), bul (for …. Baals) and On (the Egyptian sun god).
The
pastor told me sad stories of Presbyterian pastors with masonic connections
whose descendants seemed to be cursed coming down the generations from family
members who had been participants in Masonry.

BOER AND BRIT
But it was not only Brits who were
Masons but Boers also. Freemasonry was brought to South Africa by members of
the Grand Orient of the Netherlands in 1772. Wikipedia lists 20 famous
Afrikaners masons including Piet Retief. Dr Alta Steenkamp defended the
Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria from allegations that it is Masonic even
though it is based on the Leipzig Masonic temple.
IONA
Scottish
Masonry and Theosophy seems to have had a detrimental influence on the Island
of Iona in the west of Scotland, once the home of the saintly Irish monk St
Columba and the launchpad for the evangelisation of Scotland and the North of
England. Amongst Columba’s many charismatic gifts was exorcism which he used in
his battle with paganism and the occult. But the demons have returned to the
holy island as Iona is now a launchpad for paganism.
On
a visit to Iona in 1997 I was saddened to see that the Abbey, restored in 1967
by the Presbyterian Church of Scotland has hymn books with ying yang symbols on
them. Yoga classes were advertised even though nearly all yoga books state that
their exercises lead to the development of psychic powers condemned by the
Bible. (Deuteronomy 18:18; Jeremiah 29:8 etc)
BEDE GRIFFITHS AND IONA
The Abbey bookshop had lots of books
by Bede Griffiths who was a great admirer of Theosophy and of the Theosophical
group Findhorn which has a community on the once holy island. It is an
ecological community and a founding member of the following NGO’s active in the
U.N: Earth Values Caucus and the Spiritual Caucus. Theosophy also admired Bede
Griffiths and Theosophy – Wiki had an appreciation of him in 2008:
“Going native” created tensions with
the Catholic hierarchy as did Bede Griffith’s remarkably progressive views.
These included believing that homosexual love was “as normal and natural as
love between people of the opposite sex”. He advocated inter-faith communities
and wanted a Church that was more concerned with love than sin. He realised
that God is feminine as well as masculine and was one of the first advocates of
married clergy and ministries for women. Griffiths believed meditation should

The Iona Abbey bookshop had I noticed
no charismatic or evangelical books or the best selling Alpha material but it
did have books by the German Freemason Herman Hesse who said in 1921 that he
hoped “the spiritual wave from India would offer his culture a corrective
refreshment”. Now Germany is awash with Hinduism and Buddhism. The German Kaiser
Wilhelm II had a dream in 1895 that “an Oriental religion was coming to
overtake Europe.” He seems to have been happy with this for when he built two
churches in Jerusalem for his German subjects-one Lutheran and one Catholic
(the Dormition on mount Zion) in the latter he had inlaid in the floor a large
mosaic of the superstitious signs of the zodiac!
Perhaps Germany’s infatuation with
Oriental religion began with Schopenhauer’s translation of the Hindu Upanishads
for with this “ the nihilist current of the pessimistic religions of Hinduism
and Buddhism entered the mainstream of contemporary Western philosophy.”(24)
Schopenhauer’s pedigree was Lutheran which also had a fair bit of religious
pessimism: humanity was seen as totally depraved and a “dunghill covered by
snow!”
Another German Lutheran Paul Tillich
“widely regarded as one of the most influential theologians, of the 20th
century” (wiki) was able through yoga to develop his psychic powers,
clairvoyance and interest in astrology. On his deathbed he was offered a last
reading from the Bible or the Buddhist Tibetan book of the dead and chose the
letter. (25) This Book of the Dead was also for sale in the Iona Bookshop.
German
speaking Catholics were also influenced by this “corrective refreshment” e.g.
Beethoven quoted in his diary passages from the Hindu Rig-Veda and Mozart, the
Mason, like his father, seemingly “was poisoned by members of the Brotherhood,
allegedly for betraying of Masonic secrets in the Magic Flute”. So wrote
Stephen Knight in his famous exposé of British Masonry, The Brotherhood. Knight
died mysteriously a year after his controversial book was published!
Anthony
de Mello S.J was also well represented in the Bookshop. He was an Indian
theologian and his books were best sellers. A fellow Jesuit bemoaned the fact
that de Mello “was led in the last years of his life to divest himself of all
belief systems… and that by the time de Mello reached the end of the road, he
was fully out of the orbit of Catholic thought”. (26)
De Mello and his fellow Jesuit Pierre
Teilhard de Chardin were lionised by the New Age Movement, and the latter by
the United Nations Organisation and militant Humanists like Sir Julian Huxley.
The Vatican condemned the books of both these Jesuits.
Iona
Bookshop also had a book of Earth Prayers that was paganism pure and simple and
included prayers to one of the Greek deities Gaia, the Mother Earth goddess.
Earth Prayers have proliferated over the last few years as a quick glance at
the internet will show.
Al Gore the U.S. environmentalist has
probably encouraged this idolatry with his statement that “God is not separate
from the earth”! With 100,000 visitors annually to Iona Abbey and bookshop, it
seems they are exporting not the glorious Gospel but NAM/Findhorn theosophy to
the ends of the earth. How sad that the abbey that gave us the world’s most
famous medieval manuscript, the Book of Kells (a.k.a The Book of Columba)
containing the four Gospels, is now exporting paganism worldwide.
MOTHER EARTH
A
few years after my visit to Iona, the United Nations Environment Programme
published in 2002 a children’s’ textbook entitled Pachamama – a course on why
the world’s environment is becoming degraded, and an assessment of how our
Mother Earth (Pachamama) is doing today. The very colourful cover illustration
of the book, full of secular and religious symbols had not a single Christian
one, just something looking like a Marxist red star and a mosque, perhaps in
deference to the prominent Masons like Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (6 of his closest
aides were also Masons) and Suleyman Demirel a onetime president of Turkey.
In
2009 the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution declaring 22nd
April international Mother Earth Day – the same day as Lenin’s birthday. The
Reds are going green! This is ironic because as Marshall Goldman and others
show, Lenin’s Soviet Socialist Union was the greatest polluter ever of Mother
Earth’s environment This is probably
because Socialist nations being inherently totalitarian crush the free press,
transparency and independent minds that work to monitor foolish or corrupt
state enterprises.
Murray
Feshbach in Ecocide in the USSR shows how Lenin and his successors
systematically poisoned the air, water, soil and the people of the U.S.S.R. For
example, the Aral Sea, once the fourth largest lake in the world is now no more
thanks to the Soviets and it has been called “one of the planet’s worst
environmental disasters”. The Soviet Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster in
1986 was “the worst nuclear disaster the world has ever seen” and yet the
Soviets denied that there had been an explosion even after a Swedish Radiation
Authority detected it. (27)
In
his book How Totalitarianism Reclaimed Russia, Mesha Gessen shows how Vladimir
Putin, the ex K.G.B official is continuing the suppression of a free press.
Hence the Kursk nuclear submarine disaster. “Officials misled and manipulated
the public and news media and refused help from governments”. (Wiki) The
Soviet/Russia entity actually lost 5 nuclear submarines, polluting the oceans.
Communists always seem to get away with evil. There were no Nuremberg trials
for Communists as there were for Nazis. If as the Bible maintains “Through
Jesus all things come to be and not one thing had its being but through him”
(John 1:3) and “in Jesus were created all things in Heaven and on earth”
(1Colossians 1:16) then possibly anti-Christian ecocidal socialists hate the
earth as Marx believed, quoting Faust “everything in existence is worthy of
being destroyed”. Marx’s soul brothers the Freemasons believe in “ordo ab chao”
(order out of chaos) – one must first create chaos and then build a new order,
created by men”. (28) Lenin, the instigator of the Red Terror, believed you
can’t make an omelette without smashing eggs first.
PATHOLOGICAL LIARS
The famous Russian dissident
Alexander Solzhenitsyn prophesied that the Soviet Union would one day collapse
as it was built on a foundation of lies. Hopefully the Chinese Marxist regime
will also collapse as they too are pathological liars. They denied that there
was a massacre at Tiananmen Square (1981) and mass starvation in “Mao’s great
famine” where “45 million died”. The Guardian said it was “not only man-made
but political, born of totalitarianism”.
The
Chinese Reds signed the Paris Climate Agreement (2016) promising reduction of
coal burning but as Al Jazeera news pointed out “as most countries cut back on
coal, China is burning more of it” (20/11/19) “Building work has restarted at
hundreds of Chinese coal-fired power stations, according to an analysis of
satellite imagery” (29) They denied the early stages of CoronaVirus spread and
imprisoned courageous truth-telling doctors etc. A spokesman for China’s
foreign ministry Zhao Lijian tweeted that it might be the US army that brought
Coronavirus to China in October 2019 when US military athletes attended games
in Wuhan! (30)
With
its disastrous one child policy China has polluted the earth with the blood of
countless aborted children including the blood of countless Tibetan children in
a once independent country Tibet that has been violently colonised by China.
China has millions of its people in its re-education gulags reminiscent of the
soviet socialists. Yet the Chinese are lionised by the UN who deliberately kept
democratic Taiwan in the dark over Corona-Virus at China’s bidding – which they
often do. (31)
THE U.N AND MARXISM
The
U.N first Secretary General Alger Hiss was later convicted as a Soviet Agent.
Former top Communist Party member Joseph Z. Kornfeder said that the UN was “a
colossal Trojan Horse … a pattern for sociological conquest, a pattern designed
to serve the purpose of Communist penetration of the West”. (32)
Because
of its Marxist bias the UN also has a very pronounced bias in favour of Red
China. The UN’s Family Planning Agency
(UNFPA) supports China’s “coercive” abortion policies. In fact the UN is a
shameless purveyor of the ‘culture of death’ denounced by Pope John Paul II.
The UN’s World Health Organisation (WHO) had an anti-life and anti-family track
record from the beginning. The WHO’s first director Dr. Brock Chisholm wrote in
1948: “Children have to be freed from … religious and other cultural
‘prejudices’ forced upon them by parents and religious authorities”. (33) And
then after they are freed? Impose Marxist Socialism? The New Age syncretism? Or
Comprehensive Sexuality Education Perversion?
The
UNFPA is doing its best to implement Dr Chisholm’s aims in supporting the
perverted Comprehensive Sexuality Education. This can be traced back to the
fraudulent research of one man:
Dr. Alfrey Kinsey. (34) The American College
of Paediatricians stated that “Comprehensive Sexuality Education goes far
beyond sex education and is a dangerous assault to the health and innocence of
children”. This state imposed Sex Education began in Soviet Russia along with
abortion and all socialist nations have followed suit.
The
Bolshevik George Lukacs who introduced Sex Education into Hungary believed that
if Christian sexual ethics could be undermined among children, then the family
and church could be destroyed. This ghoulish character in Revolution and Eros
stated that sexual instinct could be used as an instrument of destruction. Eros
and Thanatos.
On
January 23rd 2020 there was a meeting of the Department of Basic Education
(DBE) ostensibly for religious leaders to discuss their outrage at CSE being
introduced into South Africa. Though 500 pastors applied they were all rejected
in favour of “token” pastors who were pro abortion and pro homosexual. The
heavy guns were brought in from UNESCO. Errol Naidoo wrote: “despite the fact
that the ministry of Basic Education claims that the DBE developed CSE … UNESCO
is clearly controlling the public relations regarding its content and
implementation of CSE in South African schools”. For example some religious
leaders received a letter signed by a UNESCO representative leading Errol
Naidoo of family Policy Institute to ask why is a U.N agency funding, providing
guidelines for and controlling the public relations on the implementation of
CSE in South Africa if as DBE claims, they developed the programme locally?

the synod of African bishops in Rome in2009, Archbishop Buti Tlhagale of
Johannesburg warned that “the cultures of Africa are under heavy strain from
liberalism, secularism, and from lobbyists who squat at the United Nations …
Africa faces a second wave of colonization, both subtle and ruthless at the
same time”.
The
“lobbyists who squat at the United Nations” let their mask slip in 1999. There
was an article in the Press entitled “AIDS to the Rescue”. It reported that Jan
Fransen an official at UNFPA “joked at a briefing for the European Parliament,
that the high Aids rate in Africa was helping with population control on the
Continent”! 36
This is shameless racism. Another U.N. body is the International Court
of Justice (ICC). It has been accused of bias against Africans. One Gambian
minister referred to the ICC as the “International Caucasian Court”! But how
could it be otherwise? The main power brokers at the U.N. all seem to have
racist backgrounds:
Karl Marx wrote pernicious
anti-Jewish book called The Jewish Question. He also hated Black people
and Slavs he regarded as “ethnic thrash”.
Albert Pike the Masonic theorist
fought for slavery. Civil rights activists want his statue in Washington
removed. Madame Blavatsky, Theosophist/NAM was also anti-Semitic. Margaret
Sanger beats all the above for racism: She claimed in her own words to
“exterminate” the negro population. She founded Planned Parenthood and this has
been doing her “exterminate” policy very well with abortuaries in U.S. Black
ghettos and outrageously high abortions. George Soros the Marxist billionaire
is a major donor to Planned Parenthood and Black Lives Matter!
LGBTQ:
The UN supports LGBTQ rights and same
sex marriage (SSM). Pope Francis said of SSM that “what is being proposed is
not marriage” and is “anthropological regression” and that the difference and
complementarity of man and woman is the anthropological reality “at the foundations
of marriage and the family” not “passing ideological facts”. The writer Doug
Mainwaring wrote that “Bedrock definitions of marriage, of man, of woman and
children have all irrationally been thrown into question, as if nature had had
it wrong all along.
The
Vatican in a document entitled “Male and Female He Created Them” makes
it quite clear quoting the Bible – Genesis 1:27 that there are only two sexes:
man and woman. The BBC has recently stated that there are “more than 100 gender
identities” and this has been blasted as “nonsense” by the Daily Mail Online.
But in keeping with Marxist principles use of the wrong pronoun for a person
who “identifies” as neither male nor female is to be considered “oppressive”.
So instead of 2 pronouns he and she, one LGBTQ group in America lists 12
pronouns but this is “not an exhaustive list”. So if the ‘’looney left” says
there are 100 gender just imagine the number of pronouns that must be learned
so as not to be “disrespectful, hurtful and oppressive”. All civilized
discourse will grind to a halt. (38)
Pope
Francis says this gender ideology is a part of a ‘global war’ on marriage and
the family (39) and does “not recognise the order of creation”. Of course, the
UN support this gender madness that is destroying the family. In a recent
article in the Wall Street Journal March 14, 2020 noted biologist Colin M.
Wright and Emma N. Hilton reveal, “In humans, reproductive anatomy is
unambiguously male or female at birth more than 99.98 percent of the time no
third type of sex cell exist in humans and, therefore, there is no sex spectrum
or additional sex spectrum or additional sexes beyond male and female. Sex is
binary. “The concept of changing one’s sex Is nonsense, as sex is determined by
unalterable chromosomes, according to researcher Jane Robbins in the
Publication Public Discourse.
The
German author and sociologist Gabriele Kuby regards “gender mainstreaming” as
“the new totalitarianism that threatens the fundamental understanding of our
very human nature, with dire consequences for children, families and society as
a whole”.
She says that she can see “a strategy
in the United Nations, in the European Union and leftwing governments to enact
a policy of the deregulation of sexual norms, thus destroying the basis of
family”. (40)
S.A.C.B.C
Contraception is also destroying the
family. The spirit entity that informed Marie Stopes under her yew tree told
her that God stated that sexual union was not for procreation but for pleasure.
The
South African Catholic bishops ask if “sexual union can be deliberately
separated from fertility and regarded as only something to express intimacy or
to experience pleasure in a recreational way why restrict it to married
couples”?... Some people are beginning to realize the terrible damage that has
been done to society by Dr. Alfred Kinsey, Margaret Sanger [founder of Planned
Parenthood, a Marxist and Theosophist] and their followers especially through
the sex education programs in schools and colleges and the enormous influence
of Planned Parenthood and similar bodies including several United Nations organizations
especially UNFPA on government legislation in many countries in favour of
abortion”, the Bishop says (41)
The Guardian Newspaper on 2 June 2012 had a
shocking headline: “£30 billion to purify UK water system after toxic impact of
contraceptive pill” – and that is only the UK. But the U.N. and Planned
Parenthood encourage and give out contraceptive pills like smarties. By
graphic, Sex Education, advocated by the UN, early childhood sexual awakening
and activity necessitates the massive distribution of birth control pills to
children. The contraceptive pill of course has a list of contra-indications so
long that only a rare woman does not experience some of them. Contraception
alters a woman’s delicate hormonal balance for many years and can cause abortion.
Whereas the beautiful Theology of the Body appeals to ecologically minded
people because of its holistic approach to sex and marriage. In God’s plan sex
is for procreation and recreation in a permanent sacramental marriage.
GNOSTIC REBELS:
As we can see from the above,
Gnosticism is a constant component in the Theosophical/Masonic/NAM/ Marxism
juggernaut. What the Israeli scholar Gedalaihu Stroumsa said of Jewish
Gnosticism can I think also be said of modern Gnosticism. Stroumsa wrote that
“there can be no Gnosticism without a revolt against the Jewish God… a violent
rejection of the Jewish God of Judaism seems to stand at the basis of the
[newly published Gnostic] texts” (42)
In fact, there is a diabolizing of
the Jewish God in modern Gnosticism – a rebellion against the Biblical God. All
religions are tolerated even Shamanism but not Judeo – Christianity! Dostoevsky
that great Russian seer of totalitarianism, writing about the year 1877 saw the
coming revolution in Russia as a revolt against God not a concern for the poor.
His view was that the instigators of the approaching revolution hated God and
despised humanity, his creation. (43) Infamously, Karl Marx stated:
“My object in life is to dethrone God
and destroy capitalism”.
Obviously, he failed on both scores!
In fact, his attack on capitalism seems to be a ploy. The real enemy was God!
Some of Marx’s closet allies were Masons such as Giuseppe Mazzini, Michael
Bakunin and Pierre-Joseph Proudhon. The former stated that Marx did not love
mankind but that he had a “destructive spirit. His heart bursts with hatred
rather than with love towards men”. He hated God and despised humanity. His
followers also, especially at the U.N., seem to be of the same ilk.
We can see this violent rejection of
the Jewish God in the New Age Movement. In the Irish Theological Commission
booklet A New Age of the Spirit? It asks what would happen to the church if it
resisted the NAM take over: “The are subtle hints in the NAM booklet that
resistance will be crushed. Alice Bailey says that the old forms will have to
be destroyed to give way to the New”
In her World Plan the world religions
will be reorganized to make them one religion. The next stage is the
destruction of Orthodox Judaism (44). The spirit entity that Alice Bailey
communicated with for nearly 30 years and whom she referred to as The Tibetan,
Djwal Khul talked of the evils of Judaism and the need for the “Gradual
Dissolution of Orthodox Judaism” Benjamin Crème wrote of the “sword of
cleavage” that awaits all who refuse to accept the NAM Maitreya the Christ.
Maitreya will seek to make the New World Religion mandatory.
One is reminded of the of the evil
King Antiochus IV Epiphanes in the Book of Daniel and the Book of Maccabees.
The Bible says that “several antichrists have already come” (1 John 2:18) and
one of those was Antiochus who erected the “abomination of desolation” in the
Holy Place in Jerusalem. (Daniel 9,11&12) and also worked like the NAM for
a one world religion. He failed!
Phil Fernandez writes:
“Many of the New Agers who are
fighting for a one-word religion and have great influence on the U.N. also have
Theosophical connections. The Lucis (Lucifer) Trust maintains the meditation
room in the U.N. headquarters. Robert Muller, former Assistant Secretary
General of the U.N. has been greatly influenced in his religious and political
thought by the writings of the Theosophist, Alice Bailey… U.N. favourites,
Mikhail Gorbachev and Maurice Strong also have Theosophical leanings. Indeed,
it would not be far from the mark to identify the religion of the United
Nations with Theosophy (45)
With
all this Luciferianism at the U.N. it is no wonder it is the world leader in
the “culture of death” as Pope John Paul termed it. How could it be otherwise?
Satan was a liar and a murderer from the start (John 8:44) Yes there are many
good Christian people at the U.N. and I have met some of them in different
parts of the world in peace giving roles but they seem totally ignorant of the
U.N’s real agenda and its extreme anti-Judeo Christian bias. Whilst some in the
U.N. work to save lives, the majority are for destruction it seems.
In
her valuable encyclopaedic book The Siecus Circle: a Humanist Revolution by
Claire Chambers, nearly all the culture of death pervs and sickos are listed.
(Siecus means Sex Information and Education Council of the United States).
Chambers writes:
“In tracing the events that led to
the formation of SIECUS and its circle, the most significant point of departure
appeared to be the United Nations. Since its inception, the U.N. has advanced a
world-wide program of population control, scientific human breeding, and
Darwinism. As a prerequisite toward achieving its goal, advocates have long
recognised the necessity of erasing traditional concepts of morality in order
to condition the populace for acceptance of the control of human destiny by the
State. Sex education/home and family living is one of the more recent
instruments utilised by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and
Cultural Organisation) for implementing population control. Under this guise,
the U.N. and associates aim to prepare the whole generation of youth to reject
“outmoded” morality, as a “new age” of scientific human breeding is ushered in
by the U.N. master planners. Certain other by-products of this major thrust are
evident, as will be indicated in later chapters; however, it is no longer a
matter for dispute that population control is a dominant theme of sex
education”.

Pope
Francis consistently attacked the population controllers and abortion crowd
headquartered at the U.N:
“The Church must never tire of
fighting abortion… “No research justifies killing human embryos, unborn babies
are precious in God’s eyes” … “There is no more important work”. (May 2017) The
Pope compared abortion to the hiring of a hitman” (10.10.18)
The
“Catholics” for Choice group at the U.N. got 50 abortionists to call Pope
Francis a “villain” for opposing abortion”. (7/11/2018)
Pope
Francis wrote:
“Instead of resolving the problems of
the poor and thinking how the world can be different, some can only propose a
reduction in the birthrate… making economic assistance contingent on certain
policies of reproductive health”. (Laudate Sii 50)
Nearly
every environmentalist organisation at the U.N. including Green Peace, the
Worldwide Fund for Nature and Friends of the Earth etc see abortion as the
answer to everything. Joseph Stalin said: “Death is the solution to all
problems. No man – no problem”! No wonder “Communism has been the greatest
killing machine in history and socialism creates the conditions for a Lenin or
Stalin to come to Power” (Curtis Bowers). The killing machine continues
inexorably demanding more and more innocent blood in abortions with the
Socialists like the American Democrat baying for blood and expelling any party
members who disagree. This innocent blood, like Abel’s cries out to heaven for
vengeance. (see Genesis 4:11)
CONCLUSION
As
regards the so called United Nations, can Planet Earth survive this
organisation with its Marxist/Theosophical/New Age bias? One third of the world
identifies as Christians and half the world claims to worship the God of
Abraham and yet the U.N. and its affiliates excoriate the Judeo-Christian
religion and ethical monotheism in favour of a One World Religion that is
anti-Semitic and anti-Christian, a polytheistic religion that is antinomian and
syncretistic and ignores the God of Abraham and extolls Lucifer and “strange
gods”.
No religion shows as much concern for
the environment as the Judeo-Christian one whose God “cares for the earth”
(Psalm 65:9-13) Pope John Paul II stated that the special love of the Creator
for each human being “confers upon him or her and infinite dignity” (Laudato
See 65). The Bible teaches that every man and woman is created out of love and
made in God’s image and likeness (cf. Genesis 1:26) The Guardian columnist
Jonathan Freedland quoted above, said, due to Darwin “suddenly the religious
notion that all life was equally sacred was under attack”. According to
Darwin’s Evolution we humans are just a randomly evolved collection of chemical
reactions. The U.N. powers-that-be are nearly all Darwinist, so humans can be
deconstructed at any time like any other animal. But just in case anyone at the
U.N. should have qualms of conscience David Spangler’s spirit entity mentioned
above tells his disciples not to worry if atomic power is released against NAM
enemies “as war and destruction are all illusion anyway”. Hiroshima never
happened?! The Indian writer Agehananda Bharati writes in his book Light-at the
Center of Krishna and Arjuna in the Gita slaying their way through their
enemies without a qualm of remorse and their behaviour often condoned by
“gentle Hindu scholars who would not kill a single fly or eat a single fish”
(46). Professor Arthur Danto says that this is a picture “of a self that has
located itself beyond good and evil. This is a dangerous space” (47).
As
mentioned above Hinduism and Buddhism hold great sway at the U.N. and so these
dangerous ideas are not foreign to its members. When to this we add the beliefs
of Marxists at the U.N such as “Communism abolishes eternal truths, it
abolishes all religion, and all morality” (Karl Marx) (48) then we need to fear
for the future of good Planet Earth when these ideas are mooted.
GOTTARD BASE TUNNEL:
With
all the Luciferianism in the world today, if we want to see the direction
things are going, we only need to look at the video of the opening of the
Gotthard Base Tunnel on June 1st 2016. Garry Littman in his article
Switzerland: Gateway to the Alps and Gateway to Hell when he writes of this
opening celebration :
“A giant mechanised worm eats deep
into the bowels of hell to the delight of a half-naked, demonic angel, Lucifer,

ST JOHN THE DIVINE CATHEDRAL:
With all the syncretist religion in
churches today with bowing and scraping to idols. one American Cathedral can
give us a foretaste of what’s to come! This Cathedral began in 1892 is the
largest Anglican Cathedral in the world and the most popular for devotees of a
One World Religion. Its construction was greatly supported by Freemasons and
their symbolism is readily apparent everywhere including the all-seeing eye of
Masonry on the Cathedral facude, reminiscent of the evil eye of Sauron in the
Lord of the Ring!
Here
we see an endless stream of visitors-sufis, shamans, gurus, swamis and fakirs,
the LGBT crowd and of course environmentalists. And “Christians”?!
The eclectic worship extolls Mother
Earth with Gaia masses and winter Solstice celebrations. The U.N. associated
Temple of Understanding and the Alliance of Religion and Conservation (ARC)
which was founded by Prince Phillip the Duke of Edinburgh, a Freemason with the
support of Prince Charles who wants to be known as “Defender of the Faiths”
(plural). Every year at Halloween they have the weird “Procession of Ghouls”
through the Cathedral precincts with a cacophony of howls and grunts and all
overseen by evil eye!
I
am reminded here of my favourite book on the Psalms, C.S. Lewis’ Reflections on
the Psalms which describes the Psalmist pouring over God’s Holy Word “as a man
ravished by a moral beauty” for the Law of God was beautiful compared to the
awful paganism and immorality of surrounding nations. We too need to delight in
God’s Word for “the Devil is prowling round the world like a roaring lion
looking for someone to eat” (1 Peter 5:9). We are exhorted to stand up to him
“strong in faith” and “faith come from hearing the word” (Romans 10:17) If we
value our faith then we too need to delight in God’s Word and the Biblical
world-view as opposed to a Gnostic Oriental one.
